sambam 8
hi lads, im usualy a running dog man but have always had air rifles, recently iv been thinking about applying for my SGC. i first had a go at shooting at the beadale game fair hitting 7 out of 10 clays and i loved it, iv been out a few times rough shooting with my mate and he takes his .410 with him ferriting, so i was having a look at second hand shotgun prices and came across a nice under and over with interchangeable 12g and .410 barrels, i really like the idea of this and wondered if it mabey a one off thing or that you have to order the barrels seprate as iv searched the net and cant find the same gun or any other with the 2 barrels if anybody has any more info like makes or modles that i could look out for and pros and cons of this set up thanks in advance sam Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
It depends on what you want it for, if its mooching, then personally Id have two separate ones a 12 and a .410 and you can get used to each gun individually. There are one or two that make barrel inserts and spare barrels in different bores. The problem with something so small as the .410 is that it is very difficult to mount a .410 barrel on a 12 bore action and keep all in proportion. Krieghoff make an insert which goes into a 12 bore set of barrels, changing it to a .410 which gives you the feel of a 12 bore but shooting .410 sized loads. From my experiences of multi sets of barrels, there is just too much size difference between a 12 and .410. JMHO of course. Quote Link to post
