bedrock 16
I was talking to a few lads working for the water board today and they were using a listening stick to find a leak in a pipe. I asked them If they had any in the van which could go missing or be replaced with a couple of cans of beer and they kindly told me no. I’ve asked a couple of lads and they say they have used them with the terriers and find them very handy If any of the dogs accidentally get to ground without a collar. I’ve found some on the net and they would be easy enough to make. Do any of you lot use them or have you in the past? atb bedrock http://www.msfengineering.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=MSF05 Quote Link to post

Guest busterdog
You boys have already got one....it's called a shovel, kick it in the ground and listen to the handle which fits neatly into you're ear, I've being using this method for years. Quote Link to post
bedrock 16
Johny vagas thank for the offer but I have done some asking about and have one on the way. Like busterdog says you can use a shovel, digging bar or probe to do the same. atb bedrock Quote Link to post
wink hound 0
you can get didgital ones, cant really see much point for earth work when a bar will do. we used the digital one in a bail stack to find a dog that had been stuck for several days. could just find it on the slightest of movemnets and got it out alive. would not of found it without it. Have never seen one since. Quote Link to post
Cleanspade 3,322
looks a handy bit of kit the beach one at five foot would double as a handy walking stick. ive never used one would it not be easier to read than a bar or shovel. ? looks easy enough to make one. interesting post Quote Link to post
