Countrykid 1
Ok In the summer I might be getting a new dog. A month or 2 ago my springer died and it was ready to start work..it had heart problems we didn't know about (we got her for free as she was troublesome to the owner). If the oppurtunity arises I may look to get a sprocker. How does a sprocker compare to just a Springer or a Cocker. Is it as reliable? Quote Link to post

In the summer I will hopefully get a new dog.I have seen people comment on here saying to a good working home they will give a dog free. I haven't had my own dog before really,so it will be my first dog (Gundog). My Mum has however. She has been working Gundogs (and Collies for the sheep) for about 25-30 years. She learnt the trade off my granddad, and I hope to in turn learn how to train and work a dog efficiently off my mother. I beat on a shoot,my friend has a shoot that his dad runs, and my relative also has one.So from the working aspect I have 3 almost definite places to pick-up on and I know of another 2+ shoots. We would provide a good working home, experience with training and working and anything you can expect. I would just like to know who theoretically would be prepared to give me a dog for free.Springer/lab/sprocker preferably but could take another. If you don't breed yourselves if you did would you? Thanks for your time, Callum. Hmmm. You've had a springer which you got for free coz it was troublesome and then you want another for free?!! Learn from your mistakes.
