FastDogz 155
Alrite guys and gals Have 2 Greys and my male as always been scared of fireworks and thunder. Going into shaking, panting, and looking round the room eyes popping out real manic mode when he hears it.You can hear his heart beating when hes stood next to ya its that bad Luckily thunder and fireworks dont happen that often. But... Last weekend we had a slight storm with 2 rumbles of thunder and his little episode went on hours...He is on rescue remedy and DAP diffuser plugged in. But since that storm he shakes, and pants heavey even if a airplane goes over or anything slightly rumbling.Ive had him 2 years and hes never bothered with small things before. Obviously planes go over everyday and he is a nervouse wreck bit time. Now i dont know what to do....You shudnt pet him as he will see that as reward for been scared and do it all the more. But how the hell can you ignore him!!! Over the past 3 days hes had terrible shits i assume with him constatly stressed out! Its really getting to me..Ive never known anything like it before! Advice? Quote Link to post

Guest danny
:11: maybe thats what he needs a bit of a scare...i now it would be hard but may be the best way...or even keep him in a seperate room from the other hound for a few nights... Quote Link to post
FastDogz 155
Wudnt be able to live with myself if his heart gave out or owt...Esp as u can hear it beating and his tounge goes a darker colour.Like to keep my eye on them. A jet went over a while back and he was just about to flip..started shaking and i clapped my hands right loud..shocked him and he went to lay down Mi thinks someone has been petting him when he starts getting scared..and making him learn "when i shakes and dither they pet me" Quote Link to post
lampinglurcher 36
what i would do is; when you give him his food, get someone a couple of rooms away (doors shut) to bang some pots and pans together, you stay with your dog and if he gets scared, stop banging and let him eat and then do it quieter untill he ignores it(few days)and then start getting closer and louder. if this dont work pm me and ill run you through a few other ideas. matt Quote Link to post
Guest danny
maybe you should take him to see the vet then if hes shaking like that...sound like he might be getting bullied or something by your other dog... Quote Link to post

Guest Ditch_Shitter
I'm with Stan on this one. " Calm " is made by Phytopet. Ask Google and it'll give ye the web site with their entire range of goodies. It's, quite simply, the utter b*llox. I have a Dog, scared to death of fireworks. I hit him with Calm and before I knew what was going on the dozy lump was out there, eating his dinner and gazing up at what was fast approaching a bad night in Beruit as if to say, " Weeeeee! Look at the pretty colours! ". I don't think my opening up with an AK47 could have fazed him. Just ridiculously good stuff. More to the point; Get some down that bitch too I'd wager it's a racing cerainty he's feeding off her. Best of luck. And f*** the 'Shrinks'. Vast majority seem to have just read the net more thoroughly than most of us and learned it by rote. It only sounds good because someone you figure must be good - at That price! - is sat there Telling you. Still, if you want, I'm sure Stan and I can arrange some invoices ..... Quote Link to post
