danebrewer10 6
WHOA THERE!!! definitely not a good idea to shoot into trees with anything other than an air rifle, purely because the bullet has so much more energy and will go so much further, so unless you own scotland or a private estate ot a gazillion acres, I wouldn't recommend it, if you mention it to your FEO, he could concievably consider revoking your FAC, because at least in the UK it is regarded (rightfully so) as extreemly hazardous especially considering how densley populated we are... drwolly 8
Sorry but I cant believe someone could even ask the question can I shoot up trees...neigh mind do it with a 22lr or a 177hmr Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
i only shoot woodys off wiresor out of tree's with my airgun if i knew that behind it was open arible land or a deserted area. i would never shoot a woody off a wire or out of a tree in a buitl up are (i.e town, busy farm) as there is always a risk. now my air rifle is doing 12ftibs. your rimmie is doing around 96ftib i think. so unless you have got about 3 miles of open land behind that woody/crow/squirrel its not a good idea. you could always decoy with a rimmie, or just stalk around until the woody has the tree trunk behind it although easier said than done. Deker 3,478
Not a chance...your FAC "will" be granted for GROUND Game and vermin!! If you even hint at shooting up in trees at the interview your FAC is about 99.9% guaranteed to be refused! What you consider a safe shot after you get the certificate is down to you!
