ferret finder mk1 8ft

hi just wondering if anyone knows anything about the mk1 ferret finder, i have changed the batteries in the box and collar but the box seems to pick up the collar at 7 and 8 foot and then when you turn it down from 7 foot there is no noise like its not picking up the collar does anybody no what this could be? try it in the garden mate put the collar on the ground and see what it does pick up and at what distance

I've tried it pal even with the tape measure, thanks anyway but I wonder if anybody else has had the same problem maybe it's some wiring fault? ;)

when you take the cap off give the metel bit on the coller a scrap with something thats what it might be mate

the zink hearing aid batterys tend to do that after a while the ones you put in the collars.you know the type you get from the cheapy shops and they tend to throw the pin point out use the alkaline ones thats what i found.
