Do rabbits abandon the set for a while after it has been ferreted? Can the rabbits smell ferret down the hole? Cheers Will Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,928 Posted September 21, 2009 Report Share Posted September 21, 2009 I normally wait a month before ferreting the setts again, i don't think they abandon them as such more like wait till they know it is safe to go back and yes rabbits can smell ferrets in the sett as that is how you get quick bolters Quote Link to post
The one 8,600 Posted September 21, 2009 Report Share Posted September 21, 2009 Once ive ferreted a set i like to leave it a week then you can try it again mate i always thought the smell of ferrets would keep the rabbits out but if one escapes from a net in a nearby burrow they often fly to ground in a burrow you have just ferreted Quote Link to post
