kennel warmth

So my pup is now 8 months and doing ok. She sleeps in a kennel outside with the run of the back yard. The kennel is about 5ft by 3ft inside she has and big vet bed covering the floor along with a smaller bit of vet bed and various old sheets and jumpers. The door is left open at night but does have old door matt cut into strips over the door. Its out of direct wind. Shes rough coated but its not that thick. SHould I be getting her used to a closed door to keep her warm or should I look to make any other changes?

Ive made a box in my shed, (after i lined it with kingspan) smaller space keeps warmer

so if she has a box inside with plenty of bedding she should be OK? You dont think she needs the door closed? Whats kingspan and where do I get it?

kingspan is block insulation for housing with foil wraping on both sides to reflect heat back you will get it from jewsons.

Yes, if the box has a lid and a small entrance angled away from the open door she'll be fine. It's not the cold that's the problem it's drafts.

Keep them dry and warm but dont mollycoddle them too much,
