Tiny 7 1,694
Make sure it anit a trapped nerve or such, Cause sometime's it happen's and its just to sore for the dog to put a strike in.... Quote Link to post

Tiny 7 1,694
Some time's thats the saluki style... They run and run and run, Where they could have killed them in 2/3 turn's, See how it goes try double up to see if she will get possessive with her quarry, Saying That some will run cunning and let the lead dog do it all, Atb with her..... delboy p 183
it may be a muscle injurie in the shoulder or done to much to soon Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
I suppose there could be quite a few possibliltys as to why a 16mth old has stopped striking. It could be that she's had too much, especially if you started her very young, or she has picked up a twinge and is a bit sore. You say she may have been doing too much but at this time of year unless your running her very hard every day, she shouldn't find things too tough. At her age, with all things bodily as they should be, she should be raring to strike, not refusing. I'd get her checked out, try a local Greyhound track for a vet or running dog specialist, when you then know she's physically sound give her a week or two and try her again, make sure it's easy runs, she needs 'quick wins' for confidence and if all ok build up from there. I'm no Saluki expert but from what I know over the years quite a few of this breeding find their 'specialist game' too daunting and many do quit (jack), even from the best lines, I hope your bitch isn't one of them. Best of luck Quote Link to post
sky2008 142
cheers lads defo nothing wrong with her had her checked just think so a bit sick going to leave her for a tew weeks and try her again Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694
Well if you have had her checked (by a creditable bone man), It sound to me if its her style of running then, Cause if you had sickened her she wouldnt be running them like you say, IMHO Giveing her a break will keen her up abit, But wont do anything to the style she run's Quote Link to post
stormrider8 59
Is it only rabbits you been running her on? Quote Link to post
