Cheers dude.

Really don't want a spaniel.

if you'r worried about training a spanial then don't get a pointer get a lab or mebe a chessiepac bay retriever( can,t spell it) but they are very hardy and fantastic swimmers and large enough to retrieve any goose .they look like a very big lab with tight curly coat .bred in canada .

Sorry Hily

Chesapeake Bay Retrievers look nothing like a lab , some are not that big, our bitch is compact with curly coat and our dog is slightly taller with a wavy coat, They are an american breed and not for the novice to train

Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are brown do you think they could account for the brown colour in labs?

I have a staff that's spaniel enough, i would prefer the lab retrieving wildfowl on the marsh for obvious reasons to me.

Thanks for the insight mate, There's a few crosses that i think would go well but doubt i'll ever get to see it happen.

A few people have said there best gundog they have had was a mongrel, to look at it was a lab.
