moi654321 17
anyone have any experience using the pieps freeride with Bellman and Flint collars,im working to a tight budget and the freeride looks like a good deal, would there be any draw backs with it only being 1 antenna,as opossed to the more expensive boxes{pieps dsp and barryvox pulse} having 3 antennas? any info would be great,as i need a resonable price box, already got the B and F collar. thanks in advance Quote Link to post
Bryan 1,363
a single antenna is fine but you have to be able to read "spikes" at a depth of say 4 feet an analogue box will give you FIVE points with the SAME strongest signal. With practice, practice and practice it can become second nature But................... you have to work in a grid like pattern, up down, left right, repeat, repeat until you plot out the signals you are getting back. if you imagine a clock you will get a weak signal at 12, 3,6 and 9 o clock The dog is right at the centre of the clock and you'll get the strongest signal there. But you'll get a similar strong signal at half 10, half 1, half five and half 7. If you can figure that out on a moving dog or down 5 feet with 3 feet to go, then you can handle an analogue, single box But i don't find it simple. Bryan PS the D1 box comes with 3 pages of instructions that i put together after about 3 days trying to figure the thing out. Quote Link to post
