which 12 gauge auto

Recommended Posts

HI folks

been a shooter for a large part of my life when younger from aged 10 until 16/17, when i discovered shagging and drinking ;)

anyway, at 31 i am now looking to take up clay shooting again, skeet and sporting

i used to shoot a beretta 686 20 gauge, but also used a beretta 303 auto, and later an A390 12 gauge

now i fancy an auto for clays but what would you recommend at a budget of £800 ish

i fancy a second-hand a391 sporter of some variety, but everyone seems to rate the Bellinis ?

any advice appreciated taa :)

Welcome to the forum. As you've been away from the shooting scene for some years why do you want to come back with a semi???????? And I thought Bellinis was a place to eat. ;)

because the recoil of a gas operated auto, is like 1/2 the amount of a O/U, and i plan to do a fair bit of shooting

my shoulders are a bit knackered from years of boxing and carpentry, so i feel an auto will be the way forward ;)

OK ...I missed these as well ...........Bellinis....not a gun I know...am I just uninformed or did you perhaps mean Benelli???

Stays cleaner as it works off recoil not gas, and still part of the Beretta family.

I had a 303 and now have a 391, the recoil is very well controlled but they do take more cleaning than the Benelli....

But I just like Berettas...

yes i did indeed mean Benelli, my spelling leaves alot to be desired ;)

I too love beretta's as my dad always used them, and they seem to be the gun of choice, with out blowing 4 grand on a Kragoff

but on the auto front, the choice seems clearly between, those two manufacturers i mentioned in my op, bar the spelling mistake :)

H,i I too have been a shooter for most of my life, been the same way as you, got hooked up in drinking and shooting. :(

I am a master in both, and advise you of everything you may need to know. :clapper::clapper:

Perhaps in appreciation you could help me in the art of shagging?, as I have sadly left that neglected? ;)

Signed yet another shooting outcast
