Well, we went lure coursing on Friday evening, it was Fly's first time and she not only ran but she won all three of her races to get into the final! :clapper: She ran against a beddie x, a whippet and a lurcher. Unfortunately by then it was 10.30 and pitch dark so we are hoping to run the final at next month's meeting.

I was well chuffed with Fly's performance, especially as she beat a dog that was a previous overall winner, when I wasn't even sure if she would run at all. :icon_redface:

Hi, I can't remember the name of the dog she's up against for the final, it was a large pure black lurcher or greyhound, belonging to a bloke whose name I also can't remember - well, it was getting late and we were all tired! The only thing is that if they get beaten then they can't race again, til the "fun" races at the end.

That's great if you're going to be there next month - I really don't mind if Fly does get beaten, I was just happy that she ran on her first time out because I understand that a lot of dogs don't - some of the deerhounds have been loads of times and stick give up half way round! Plus Fly is only 11 months old. Your bitch looks pretty powerful!

If you are there in September please come and introduce yourself, I will be there and possibly also have my foster huskyxGSD who just arrived today and my friend may come with her Beardie.

it was the same first time i went, although my dogs a worker she doesnt like running with dogs she doesnt know so was really chuffed when she got to the final

i think it makes a difference that its a real bit of fur rather than a rag or poly bag like it is at some coursing events
