Guest hyperion
i cant even remember the last time i had a look in here let alone posted a topic or even took the phoenix out of its slip!, mainly due to having no transport ive not even been able to get my divers bottle refilled for a couple of months! any way as of yesterday ive been signed off work with high levels of stress, so today i quick call to the ex and she wisked me off to the dorset diving centre to get the bottle refilled, while i was there the chap doing the refills noticed the bleed valve was leaking quite badly and the next thing i know hes got the whole thing in bits cleaning and pollishing and fitting a new seal for the valve as the old one was wrecked! after nearly an hour of fiddling and pollishing, taking the thing to bits and putting it back together twice to check the valve its self the bleed valve finally sealed and the bottle was filled!, then when i asked how much i owed him he did that sucking air in through his teeth thing and came out with "call it a quid for the seal and its a fiver for the fill, so six quid mate" he could have charged me forty quid for a perkins near side filler womble and id have been none the wiser! top bunch of blokes and top service! so in a few minutes im going to pull the phoenix out and give it the once over and a good clean, charge the cylinder up then get all my hunting gear ready! then in the morning im going to head up the farm with the dog and the gun leave the mobile and the rest of the world behind and ray mears it up all day, i know a perfect little spot to make a small day camp and im going to see if i can hunt and gather enough for lunch and maybe even my dinner, ill be taking a tin of beans just in case! cheers hyperion Quote Link to post
