BSA choke there barrels at the breech for correct pellet fit & muzzle choke for the correct gas seal, on the BSA air rifles they bore out lengths of the muzzle to adjust power, take a look at the old Meteor I used to joke about this as quarter of the barrel had been bored out on some batches to keep the power down. foxon.
