couple of questions on pcp air rifle's

Recommended Posts

Thinking of getting a bsa ultra multishot in a few weeks but got some questions.

How quiet are pcp's, and

if any one has a ultra how long dose it take to fill it with a pump.

Thinking of getting it in .177

Cheers all.

The original moderator of the Ultra is crap, but if you fit a Weihrauch moderator it makes it very quiet indeed. In fact the loudest thing you will hear at a 30 yard shot is the impact of the pellet.

Filling it from scratch with a pump will take about ten minutes of work, but then to just top it up from 120 to 200 bar is easy 2 minutes work.

edit: Did I just recommend something made by those krauts at Weihrauch ??????? I must be going soft in the head

hi fraggle

it depends on the moderator you buy for it,here are a couple of favorites, logun QGS or Weihrauch . as for filling with a pump i hope you have strong arms? me tinks it's a pump for every shot.

get a bottle buddy lot more easier!!

hope this helps

PS how did the move go, was waiting for a call but didn't here' so thought you got it sorted.

would you reccomend it in .177 or .22 mate.

thanks for the info, dont mind ten mins work then the odd 2 mins of pumping end of day, if i fire more than 30 pellets then i am doing something wrong.

i thought that. you dont realise how quickly you go through them though when lining scopes in and just trying to get used to the gun. especially with the multi shots mate. i must have put 150 pellets through mine in 2 days just pissing about with it

I had one in .22 and it was fine but I did not get on with the cocking fiddly bit. But you are right, I would hate to jug back 30 rabbits to the car so unless you are into plinking big style the shot count is more then enough for a days shooting.

The BSA Ultra multi shot in .22 is a very pointable bit of kit, I build quite a few of these, removing the bad bit's, the one in the pic has just had my own improved reg returning 42 shots per fill @ 11.27 ftlbs, the volumetric has been stripped & my own baffles have been inserted allowing the carbine to remain a carbine & whisper quiet, have reworked the mag & indexing pawl so no jams, the trigger has been stripped & reworked giving a pro feel, you cannot knock them you can only make them better as for the multi task cocking procedure it's like rideing a bike, you never forget.

Have done conversions on these in .177 but most Pest Controllers want the hard hit of the .22.

foxon.
