Somthing to smile about

Nice reads, Countryman. Thanks for pointing that out to us :good:

I say " Reads " because I also scrolled down and then checked out the Miles Cooper interview. That was an absolute belter! And, from there, I went on to read of Graham Sirl. The emerging pattern of patent truth highlighted by the three articles is quite breath taking. I almost reached for me cheque book, to join the CA! ..... Almost.

Charles Nodder. That was his name. Came to me just a split second before I wrote it then. Back in the day - mirroring what Graham Sirl admits to, in my own small way, I guess - I bought a copy of Mike Huskinson's book, " Running With The Fox ". Huskinson was then one of the HSA photographic 'moles'. His job was to sneak about, gathering photographs which the Anti's could use against Field Sports. (Heh; They never had the internet and certain moronic members of fora such as this to do the job for them then! )

Anyway, I read this book and, at a single reading, spotted evidence more damning to the author's truthfulness than the whole volume could prove to our lot. I mentioned this to Charles ~ Press Liason Officer, of something similar, of the British Field Sports Society ~ with whom I enjoyed a congenial relationship of letters.

Charles was delighted! As I remember his words; " I've often been called upon to rubbish that particular (photograph) one and you've now handed me the perfect answer! " Photo in question was of some blurry figure, face completely and needlessly wrapped and covered, tipping a fox out of a sack. Standard caption / allegation was that This was Huskinsons " Incontrovertable proof " that the Terrierman of some Hunt or other had been caught, bang to rights, providing a " Bagged Fox " which he'd now been photographed tipping out in the path of the very Hounds.

Only Husky baby f***ed up rather badly in his rabidly written description of the event, see? He described it all as going off on some wooded hillside. Man in the photo was clearly standing on a flat field, in open country! Sorry, Mike: You're a lying c*** and I caught you out!

Anyway, point of all this is that, even then, the (then) British Field Sports Society were a bit of a bunch of toffs. Their main interests in life were mounted Fox Hunts and they really had little time for the humble Ferreters among their membership. Terriermen? They didn't even like to Think about those guys, till matey invented the WTF. God forbid the 'bloody lurcher keeping poachers!'. But they were all we had and I was a staunch little member for years.

Now we have the CA. Last time They came to my attention was on another, Pro Field Sports, forum. They'd been banging on (CA) at the time about how much more cash they needed us to send them, to enable them to fight our good fight for us ..... Then some fervant 'moocher' type went and snapped a crafty shot of what he found behind their 'Members Enclosure' tent at some fund raisery do; More empty shampers bottles than you could carry in a Bedford! :(

Maybe I remember it wrong? Maybe That crew were called something else? What ever might have come between the 'good old' BFSS and this CA? 'Campaign for ....' ? If there was another set of initials between the two, then it might well be that the middle lot were forced - by such grass roots discontentment - to change their name and distance themselves from ..... themselves ( :icon_eek: ) by adopting a new name? I don't know. I'm not That interested. I'm afraid that shot of the bottles just about capped it for me. That's why my cheque book's still in the drawer there.

Anyone care to talk me into taking it out?
