Cuts and bites

Whats the recommended antibiotics for cuts and bites on working dogs,i've had noroclav before from the vet, is this well thought of,my mates lurcher burst her leg open on a piece of farm machinery and somebody suggested Diclofenac,anybody shed any light on this please.

I agree, hibiscrub is good. You dont need antibiotics in some instances although some vets are only happy to oblige and charge you for the priviledge

i use omoxycilin,think thats how its spelt. you can get it over the counter in spain and the canary islands. if you know any on holidays get them to pick up a supply. but i only use it as a last resort if theres a bad infection. i use dettol on most cuts and wounds.

As far as I know Diclofenac is not an antibioyic, I am sure its an anti inflammatory.

I use Synulox/Noroclav/Clavulox they are all the same drug made by different companies. It is Amoxicillin.

I use luke warm salty water to wash it out and then i use an antiseptic powder called Rowarolan that you can get in any chemist
