Out with the 20 Bore and terrier again

Recommended Posts

I arrived at the farm that i had recently snared my second rabbit on and talked to the farmer and he was telling me about where he has seen some and that he had shot a couple out of his kitchen window, I had to laph because his wife was frightened to death apparently. After a quick chat I was off, putting my gun case o the gate.

I set of to the top fields and put Amber into the hedge so she could work it down form me, but nothing, not even a black bird. So we came to a gate and quickly jumped it where i had seen a rabbit jump into the hedge about 70yds down, luckily we had the wind in our face and i put Amber in and made our way down the the section where i had seen the pest jump in, then al of a sudden it jumps out and pelts it across the field and one shot from the lethal shot of mwa and he was rolling in the short grass, it must have been a 45yd shot and i had to quickly flick the barrel to FULL and deliver him 28grams of 7.5s

We then made our way along a another hedge line where i spied a rabbit sat sun bathing and i gave him a full dose to but unfortunately the nerves kicked him into the hedge where it was down hill to a river. So i walk over to see if Amber can pick up its sent, then what do I see it a fox carrying my rabbit down the bank, I could not get a shot off because of all the trees and bushes and rather kill it out straight than injure it. So that was that and we made our way around the hedges and bushes until we got back to the gate of which we came from, and I was picked up by mother. Hope you enjoyed my post :bye:
