johnmac666 2 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Share Posted June 5, 2009 Am getting kits this year and getting back into ferreting & them being Female i thought i would ring the vets to inquire how much a "Jill Jab " was, now i have been told the vets i was ringing was used to dealing with ferrets & hawks etc so when i ask how much for the jab i was replied to with the words , oh you mean the injection to neuter them, i replied simply no its to bring them out of season & tried to explain why & when its needed,havnt got a clue was the reply, so i rang another to be asked whats one of those, never heard of it ?? wtf ? so does anyone know of a vets around Manchester area can travel if needed but obviously not a day out !! just want to know the vet i will be using knows something about ferrets before i allow them to start injecting them or if something happens to my ferrets or am i just being paranoid & any vet will do ?? , have heard of a vets called molly varden or sommat like that around Manchester who i hear deals with a lot of BOP but cannot seem to find the address, i know i was probably speaking to someone who just takes calls etc but surely you would have thought they would have some idea or knowledge or even a check sheet with basic pricing on ?? regards john Quote Link to post
ulverston moocher 60 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Share Posted June 5, 2009 I wouldnt use a vet that didnt have experiance with the animal I was taking to be treated I found a vet that was meant to be great with bop so I registerd my animals with them when my harris hawk was tagged on the foot by a squirel I took her through and the woman vet walked to the outher end of the room asked me not to get to close with my hawk asked if she was applying presure to the guantlet when i said yes she said her foots fine thats 25 pound consultance fee needless to say I never whent there again.
