steve0146 0
Hi, My deerhound cross is now 13 months and decided that he is not interested in retrieving. He sort of got the idea about christmas, just playing in the garden but now just looks at me when i throw a dummy for him. I have attached a rabbit skin to it but he grabs it and runs around me in big circles. I try to lure him in with treats and walking the other way but he just drops the dummy and comes to me without it. All you lurcher men out there must have some ideas for me.... johnbhoy 1
sometimes its hard to get the dog to retrieve again, try going to a bit its like a tunnel, like a walk path with heavy bush on each side and throw the dummy up the path and walk away, the dogs only got one way to run and its down the path towards u, if the dog brings it back to give a [bANNED TEXT] gd clap or a treat, do this once a day or maybe twice and see how u get on. dont over do because u can bore the dog with throwin the dummy too many times atb john
