Guest Ditch_Shitter
Hullo, lads (and lasses?) I've been Guesting on this single part of the forum for quite some time now and have enjoyed some great reads and gleaned some fantastic information - especially courtesy of P&G. Where's he got to, since I went off line for a bit? I was here when 'P&G' discovered he had a buck mink of his ground, and promptly brought it to book with a snare. That Really impressed me! In fact I've never forgotten it and, now that I'm back on line, I decided to join up and come here to ask Phil (?) if he could kindly impart some tips on how it's done. My ground's seemingly over run with mink just now - if the regularity with which I find their scat is anything to go by - and I need to work on them. I have a battery of Cages and other traps at my disposal. Just that I really fancy trying my hand at snaring some. I really haven't a clue where to start though As Phil doesn't appear to be around just now but Glenn Waters is, dare I request a little guidance from the undisputed Master himself, perhaps? (Shrinking down, humbly! ) Either way, some great information passed around here. I've really enjoyed soaking it up and hope to learn a lot more as time goes on. By the way: At yesterdays dawn I was out checking a set I had down by a local stream. I found mink scat right next to where my set was and saw a trap anchoring cord pulled tight inside a land drain! Imagine how delighted I was! I wasn't after mink, but knew one had got itself caught and had dragged the trap up the drain Absolutley gutted when I pulled out the trap, only to find the damn thing had just foul caught itself and managed to pull free and was gone! I'll have that bugger yet! Quote Link to post
