welshdragen 9
Is this expensive to treat at the vets? didnt cost me that much cuz i got a vet in my family the treatment was either a cream or a drop that goes on the back of the neck the cream that i used was teatree cream for small animals it stops itching and irtiating skin and carms the skin down so they dont bite or scrach at it Quote Link to post
Guest shadowz
I have to admit this post really worry me and i would get her to the vets ASAP. a lot of the symptoms like sore crusty eyes/nose and anus is symptoms of distemper. Best thing to do is get her to the vets today Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
Id take her to the vets and explain to them she has kits and you need to be quick.Theyll give her something for the mites? If thats what it is and possibly an antibiotic depending on how bad or infected she is and wether or not it will afffect the kits. After youve rehomed the kits scrub the hutch with duramitex its for bird lice but works for ferrets too let the hutch dry after you rinse it to death before putting the jill in again.I litter trained my ferrets and they have newspaper on the floor and a tray filled with wood based cat litter Quote Link to post

Guest michaeltreadwell
Hi sorry i took so long to reply, thanks for all your help the ferret is fine, took her to the vets on friday and the vet said its a skin infection, she's on antibiotics and it seems to be getting better... no crusty skin around her eyes anymore and and if the other areas dont clear up by the time the antibiotics have run their course i'll take her back. She was gone from the kits for about 45mins so all is ok. It only cost £16 for the visit and the medicine tbh i thought it would have been alot more! Thanks for all the help and advice and thanks to those her were concerned. I really appreciate it! Quote Link to post
