Tis TM 8
I was searching on ebay for a ladder trap, and came across this monster! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8FT-X-6FT-LADDER-TRA...%3A1%7C294%3A50 Has anyone ever made one this big? and is it worth it? I'd have thought one a quater of the size would do just as well?? I was going to ask my bro' to make me one, as he has done with larsens... is there any handy tips to include? I've been catching carion in the larsens quite well, but I'd rather keep them for the mag's and jays alone. Thanks Quote Link to post

Thanks Yes I used to run 6 traps on fell ground that size and they are great traps, that is the proper size for them in my opinion....need to dismantle and transport in a trailer which could be a nuisance to some, but mine were permanent fixtures in well thought-out places. I have smaller ones aswell but they are not as good as the bigguns. No way would I pay that for one though, I would make it myself. Quote Link to post

No, link didn't work, but thanks for trying. I didn't realise that they were best off this big... I'm still catching 1 - 2 a day in the larsen at the mo, but would love to see a ladder trap working, going to have to rustle up some plans and talk nicely to my bro! Having it dismantleable is a great idea, as I dont really want a permanent fixture. Quote Link to post
Tis TM 8
maybe this Brilliant Is that just normal 2 x 1 batten? Quote Link to post
patdahat 41
maybe this Brilliant Is that just normal 2 x 1 batten? 2x2 un plained battons , for the size and transportation it gives it more stability, the mesh is about half inch, inch would do the trick either whatever is cheaper and just stapled to the battons (heavy duty stapler)saves time and finger nails rather than using U nails.
