Quick flick with the lamp!

went out last night for an hour or so as one of my permissions called to say a fox keeps eating the dog food from the front of the farm house and setting off the security lights, so got their at about 10pm still broad daylight! had a brew with the farmer and a natter and he said he seen two charlie coming out of the hay barn in the afternoon! so thinking that they are in their i went and set up 50 yds from the doors to the barn and waited! nowt for half an hour so had a little squeak, flicked the lamp around and Bingo!!! eyes about 300 yds in the middle field with cows in it so gave another squeak and it ran straight toward me. he got within about250 yds and something spooked him and he turned left and ran down the side of the shite pit, so i made safe and tip toed around the front on the pit, i flicked the lamp again and it was within 60 yds or so but by this time i was puffin out me arse as it was a very hot night and the tip toe was about 150yds. i got on me belly flicked the gun lamp on and it had done an about turn and headed back along the front of the pit,SO again i tip toed Back to where i stared(puffing slightly from me arse) go back on top of the jeep ready for him !! a little squeak the a flick and BINGO he was about 70yds in front so BANG i gave her some of my new nosler 55gr polly tip in the ear lug!! turns out to be a young vixen!, who had not had bold or sucked teats.

nice one stu, i know exactly what you mean about being rather out of puff after trying to cut off a fox, it makes it even more satisfying once you get it though.
