The Southern Marsh Orchid has flowers pale pink-red to purplish with a broad lip marked with dark spots and streaks; and stout, curved spurs behind the flowers. Leaves unspotted.

Common in the south of England and East Anglia, less so further north, absent from the extreme north of England and Scotland. In flower from early to mid summer in marshes and wet meadows.
