Longnetting in a field full of warrens

Recommended Posts

Maybe someone with more experience can help me with this as Ive been pondering it for sometime...

I ferret in a huge piece of ground in the winter, theres so many warrens connected, It takes a lot of work...Its normally as many purse nets, long nets and shooting as much as I can, although its not always easy shooting between running to a long net and grabbing purse nets, Anyway

Ive always wanted to Longnet it at night, But Im wondering if its even possible? Every warren in the field is so tight and usually connected, there doesnt seem to be anywhere where they actually feed except around the outside of the warrens...I will try and get a picture up to explain better, But if you just imagine a 40 acre field, completely dotted with warrens right across from top to bottom and side to side, all tight together with no real feeding area, Its more or less a complete warren on the field....Theres nowhere to actually get ebhind the rabbits and their warrens to place a net, Or is there? Of course I could be snaring or shooting them, But Id rahter net it, if anyone (Molecatcher) Thinks its possible?
