linebreeding/outcrossing

I would only breed tight if the dog and its dam were 100%, if so, should help fix the working qualities that they posess. Cant commment on the resulting pups until you see how they go... if all is 100% sound regarding conformation, working ability you could breed tight again(half bro/half sis for eg), then look for an outcross if size is lacking a bit, as can happen after a few generations of line breeding...

would'nt even consider using dogs if they were'nt 100% mate, the dog is 4 1/2 and the bitch 6 never saw either refuse a situation.i would only breed because i want a pup not for dollar.obviously i'm looking at the long term.after how many generations would you bring in an outcross?or would that depend on how the dogs were performing, size etc

Its worth remembering that dogs off totally unrelated lineage can always take that much more in/line breeding before presenting problems....within the first few generations it is a genetic lottery as to what genes are shared in your offspring, hence your dogs will not lose vigour......unlike inbreeding off even loosely linebred dogs where much more care needs to be taken.....only inbreed on an exceptional dog,run as many on as you can, cull what doesnt make the grade......and you wont go far wrong
