BellySlater 15
I have a Webley Tempest that can destroy a can of Carling at about 12 yards. I've never thought of taking it hunting before, but the more I think about it ...I am wondering if it could replace my "catty" on a walk in the country... it fits nicely in the pocket and isn't that loud. (.22 calibre)... Has / does anyone have any success with this classic pistol ? Thanks in advance.. Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Although the tempest and hurricane are handy little pistols there uses are restricted. Ideal for plinking or despatching trapped quarry but it opens up too many issues in respect of hunting. Firstly carrying a concealed weapon could drop you in a big bucket of crap if you happen to get tugged by the law. Secondly the humane issues for your quarry, yes it may blow a hole through a can but achiveing an accurate and humane kill is another thing, they are not the most accurate of tools. If you are trying for longer range shots. I have had some good fun in the past using them for ratting and have accounted for some good numbers over the years. It would not be my first pistol of choice. I only use mine now for despatching. ATB Moxy Quote Link to post
