cast nets

has anyone on here had any experience in using a cast net and if so are they very productive???????????????????

only thing with that idea is that some of them throw old trees in so you cant net them so i have been told :whistling: :whistling:

That wouldn't necessarily affect a cast net though, you'd have to be unlucky to drop your leads round a tree. Cast nets are ok for messing about with but not much good for anything serious.

if you hav an eztuary near you wich you know has a run of sandeels or sea trout then try waiding out and throwing the cast net oveer shoals of sandeel. i went out mackerel fishing off the rocks and there was a huge school of little silver garfish below me and my mate through a cast net over them and there you have it, bait for the next 2 weeks or so! although cast nets are only good if there are big shoals of baitfish close in.

I bought a cast new from the states i cant seem to throw it right looks easy hmmmmmmmmm so i thought jut thought ide say lol

take a look on youtube under spin toss and that is the easiest way to throw them i have found just dont get snagged or it will cost you as i found out the hard way lol
