Guest ferreting king
well all ferret are different, i had mine jill from a litter at 8 weeks and i give her rabbit to eat and another for training her pulling rabbit skin through pipes, and then she started working then at about 8 months old and she is going to be a great working in time when she has more rabbits under her belt! i think that it is for you to decide when you think that the ferret is ready to work Quote Link to post
doddsy1970 9
They will be fine too work this year around about Sept, October but November, December would be a more realistic time to work them. I would personally try them out for the first few times on very small buries. If you get them running through pipes now they will be used to tight dark spaces and will enter the bury through curiosity and more easily. Don't expect them to be 100% straight away it will take a few trips and a bit of patience but once they get to know that there is potential food down there, there will be no stopping them. One other thing is to get yourself some flea and tick spray and follow the instuctions on the bottle because there is nothing worse than an infestation of either or both. Quote Link to post
