  1. Birds feathers ar very efficient insulators, just think how warm they keep birds. BUT birds will get a belt off the fence if their comb or a bare part of their body contacts the wire. I have seen my chickens get a right hurry up from the pig fence catching their comb. I use standard netting but the trick I find best is to have one of those electric gates that closes the chicken pop-hole when it starts to get dark. I have only ever lost one to a fox and that was from a field that they were wandering about in. That electric mesh is good stuff but you need to have another pole at a 45 deg
  2. I bought a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x 40 for 250USD IMO a better scope, better light transmission and a rainguard coating on the lenses which repels water and doesn't fog. This alone is worth thinking about for these conditions, dunno about you but it's lashing with rain here now... The Bushnell Elite was previously made for Bausch and Lomb and are the high end scopes from bushnell. Have a search about reviews on the Bushnell Elite 3200/4200 series and they are well regarded.
  3. I was out sighting and trying different types of ammo earlier this evening, I tried: Winchester Super-X HV HP. Winchester Super-X Subsonic HP Lapua Super club Subsonic Remington Yellow Jacket Hypervelocity (worst group) and some Old Eley Scorpion HV that was hanging around I will post up pics tomorrow, The subs grouped the best and followed by the super-X HV I have also got some Rem. Cyclone and CCI minimag to test, I just ran out of daylight.
  4. What model is it? 3200 or 4200? Matt or Gloss? Reticle type?
