    some fine looking hunters you get there ole' chap, shame taking hogs in u,k with dogs is illegal, as im sure I don't only speak for myself when I say there would be plenty of chaps including me game for the piggies with the dogs

    Thankyou, really sppreciate the reply full of info i needed. I took my catty out for a hour today just to see how my shooting is, and very good if i do say so myself. next stop live quarry, think il down my gun for a week and have a real good go at filling the pot from my catty.

    Hi all, Ive just purchased my first catty and have theraband golds on. I am new to this sport, always been a keen shooter / hunter but was massively intrigued by the thought of taking quarry with a catty. So my question is "how often should i be changing the bands?" & I will be practicing on targets with 9.5mm ball bearings, once confident i can get a good grouping, i will move to quarry. So my second question is " are 9.5mm ball bearings the recommendation for ammuntion for quarry? If not, what do other people use? Many thanks

    Thought id share my experience of having a 1to 1 chat with a hunt sab. So this week whilst out at work i met a hunt sab, and threw a few questions at him. Why are you a sab? What do you feel you gain from being a sab? Why do you feel its your duty to sab hunting activities? ................. all i got was its cruel!!!!!! Well in all my time, i thought i would of got a good solid in depth answer, must of took him ages to think of this answer. best of all he eats meat, has no clue how the animal is despatched, has never spent time in the countryside unless hes being a pest to hunters, and has n

    Hi guys, Just putting the feelers out, was wanting to know if anyone has planned or know of, a litter that will be ready from the end of the season up to about Aug time this year? I have decided i want a beddy x whippet. Im from wiltshire area so the closer the better, but will travel for the right dog. any help or knowledge is appreciated thanks in advance

    Hi, Desertbred- yes i shall do that il as a few of the experienced lads i know see what they think is the easiest to work with. Always have the fear of them just telling their breed of dog is easiest to work with, just because they actually have that breed. No harm in asking though i suppose. Coursing lad - thanks for the advise, i shall definately look into a Collie x greyhound, i also have read quite a few good things about them performance wise. Ahh yes exactly what i fed my terriers on, so il stick to the raw and dry mix then. Any opinions on whippet crosses on how easy they are

    Hi, Stated in my previous post "Getting started" im massively interested in running rabbits with sight hounds, and around my way of which i shoot....etc, running the dog on lamp would seem to be the best option. i understand all power ratings and sizes...etc, i dont want to go and get a cheap one and it break on my first outting, but at the same time dont really fancy going and spending alot of money when i dont need to. So whats peoples honest opinions,is the best lamp for the money, no matter how expensive orcheap? Thanks

    Hi all, im basically looking for advice, as a hunting / fieldsports person ive always had interest in running dogs. Ive hat ratting terriers and i also follow scent hounds, but never have had a go at running rabbits with sight hounds. Basically i would like to know if there is any breed / cross that is easier to work with? And is a dog or bitch easier to work with? Or is all mutual, you get good and bad with every cross & sex? I will be looking to get a pup in the next month or so once ive looked into it fully, but another bit of advice if you guys wouldnt mind sharing, what do you

    Evening all, joined the site through recommendation, im a keen hunter and fisherman. I enjoy country life whether im out shooting, on horse back following hounds, carp fishing or working terriers. Always happy to listen to advice as feel every outting can be a learning curve, and am happy to share knowledge i may have that could be a use. mrjamesblack

    Great looking dogs, i used to work a westie bitch, unfortunately shes too old now, dont really see many working westies. Good work and good pics.
