Vulcan .25 as new fac model little used, this is Gen 3 gun with latest shroud plus extension. Also biathlon style side lever makes super smooth and silent loading. Wow, at last finding others agree about the crap crop of airgun mags. They will as the poster above says become dinosaurs. Even the articles are biased to the advertising companies. Recently I sent a long e mail to Mr Doe stating poor and unimaginative articles. Didn'r expect a reply and there wasn't. 65% is average number of full page ads, even the remaining 35% were thinly disguised eg. I put on my ...... huntng boots . Using my ...... knife I deftly sknned the rabbit etc etc. My question to Terry was in a recent night vision article why are Ward products never mentioned?
Personally feel that a £1 per copy is too much, such a shame .
Final shot IMO mainstream TV heading that way too. Other than the odd blockbuster who makes programmes nowadays, endless repeats and cheap put together items aka dancing,cooking,singing,argue with strangers indoors or on a beach.
Even the great British news has gone downhill, my nickname for Aunities news is MDK. Murder Death Kill. And no licence fee if one watches you tube,showbox,netflix etc. Wow that feels better. Must go.

So UNLESS a pdc one cannot shoot them , EVEN on private land.
One can only trap them , run them over with your car, put a pet alligator in the lake or any other non shooting methods one cares to dream up. I am thinking of running mains electric in the water where they exit.

I was referring to trapping laws when citing how a trapped Coypu may be despatched.
As we both know they cannot be shot at all except by the gentlemen of the Chasse. So no coypu hunting on private land or lakes. Anytime.
And as I mentioned earlier when my daughter was chased in flipflops by a Rag. My dog needed a vets visit after meeting one , the only recourse is put a trap down and hope the b...y thing gets caught. HAH! The prime duty of the state is protection of its citizens, as in Paris not, so if they cannot do it I will. Eg protect my family.

Very interesting. Ragondins in dept 85 chasse season ends 28/02/2017.
So EU law states these are pests and must be eliminated.
This is upheld by dept of Agriculture .So enshrined in French law.
The other ONCFS in LA Vendee says they mustn't be chassed until next season starts.
Left and right hand then?
Then they prosecute one on private land/lake for despatching them.

Ta and nor is a rimfire legit to hunt on private ground or lake.
Re killing in a trap with a rimfire specifically states under the trapping rules nor .22 long rifle, so zimmer round or sub sonic only!

Clearly says that killing a trapped ragandin is legal with a 9mm shotgun or .22 rimfire. The killing is not an act of chasse but of pigeur despatch by trapping of a nuisance species.
If one of the above weapons is not used ie 9mm shotgun or .22 rimfire then ANY HUMANE MEANS MAY BE USED.
Imo if the case is brought under Chasse laws it will fall apart.
Get yourself a lawyer. Think a letter from a lawyer would make them drop the action.
The Federation de chasse is a separate body and is nothing to do with them.
Just check your dept rules .
So the interfering chasse garde or garde de peche and the blue meanies can do the other,
The fine if you admit guilt will probably be around 1,000 euro anyway. Spend the money on defence.
It will not be sufficient for the prosecution to say they saw dead Ragandin in a cage or close by and assume they were chassed. What did the lady who told someone you shot 2 Ragandin actually say and to whom?. Start getting your evidence.

How far from a occupied building can one fire a shotgun please? If say 150 metres presumably not over or facing private land.

Yes dept to dept does vary. Depending I suppose on the degree of nuisance.
Big difference in opinions given by Chasse officers , Mairies and local custom.
Laws have changed recently and in typical Law Giver fashion leave understanding and interpretation to the courts . Hence varied opinions. Without a test case who knows?
I do not believe the Chasse departments are any wiser re use of air rifles for controlling Coypu. They , understandably would give cautious advice and aimed ( lol) at their members best interests.
Whether the recent airgun rules change anything or the statute stating that Ragandins are a pest species, carrying a lethal human disease , mean they may be despatched by airgun is unknown. Indeed including .22 rim fires unless wielded by a PdC holder.
Really we need a class action.

My young daughter was chased by a Ragandins on our private stretch of water, our dog needed stitches over 3 inches long in her face after encountering a large Ragandins.

No not a business
Not heard of them doing this .
Seen them carrying iron bar , taking out of a trap , and despatching it. Took two or three swipes hence the squealing.
Chasse are not allowed to despatch them with any gun , apparently not even a humane killer . Of course to buy the right instrument would cost money they do not have. Or would wish to buy as a club is easier.
I am not anti hunt/chasse just think more respect should be shown to any quarry.

The Nutria/coypu was held to be a pest, see French govt web site, and could be despatched any way.
Difference is the chasse rules are for hunting and to allow the chasse to despatch the Coypu needed an add to their list of quarry.
Any land owner ,private lake owner could and should help to control this pest. The chasse are bound by their rules and vigorously police their rights.
The chasse are not allowed on my land or my lake.
Therefore to control this species with an air rifle, cricket bat or iron bar is up to me.
I carry pest control insurance, written permission from lake owners .
I do not wander aimlessly around shooting Coypu. Only the chasse can do that .
Locally they despatch trapped Coypu with an iron bar, I have heard them squealing as they are clubbed to death. Chasse are not allowed to despatch them with a gun. Anything but.
One cannot Chasse with a .22 rim fire.
So private lake in safety why does one need the chasse or Mairie permission?
Unfortunately my ipad updated recently and I lost all my Notes . When I find section will post it.
A test case , maybe a group action is needed to stop the Chasse interfering with the law. Culture here is a big thing and vested interest groups like Garde de Peche and local police make their own laws.
Of course it is well known that here one is guility until proven innocent. Which can be expensive to prove hence most cases like this people do not contest . It is then the norm and the Chasse/Police do it out of habit. Until ...........?
Feel I might start using a X bow with scope,night vision to pest control my lake.
Re the spring it was not a springer but PCP , which was shipped with a transit spring of 6fpe. Some dealers/makers use this method and I think is the law in some EU countries,

Ok permis de chasse, how is your French?
Beware the wild card question, have you started studying?
Your permis de chasse is your gun licence although you can ,of course join a gun club. But no chassing without the first. I guess you know all this and buy yourself a Kevlar vest in bright orange.Sell any night vision gear before coming as no chassing with it.
And presumably the changed laws re calibres etc.
One, I believe , cannot chasse with a rimfire. Nor an airgun.
Airguns here are sold but little second handmarket, seemingly.
UK as we both know is max 12 ft lbs, appx 16 joules.
France now allows up to 20 joules for rifles, not sure re pistols, not my scene.
Beware carrying restrictions on ferries for all Guns and port security regs.
Re secondhand airguns UK to France via shop in UK. My experience is most dealers do not want to know, excuses re export regs etc. And paperwork hassle.
Could recommend several shops in France for new airguns etc.

Years ago in the UK, with my shiny new FAC licence. A couple in blue stopped me and wanted chapter and verse as to why I was entering a field with, horror of horrors a gun. Fair enough I responded politely etc etc. The lady Police person then said it was illegal because I didn't have on my person the original FAC licence. They drove off. I contacted my Firearms control officer, he had a quiet word with the couple, ( i took their numbers) about lying and overzealous policeing. Nice to get on with officials but ...... Yes at the time was not necessary to carry original licence with you and accept that may now have changed.
And then the grain ,farmers have grown , is fed back to pigeons in Trafalgar Square, sold by local entrepreneurs. Bird lime in major cities costs a lot to remove etc etc.

Speak to your local RFD, preferably face to face.
Would suggest NOT speaking to people in blue. Some years back a serving soldier spotted a shotgun sticking out of a wheelie bin. Being a caring citizen he took it straight to the local police shop and was arrested for not having a licence.

There is no attitude. If you wish to view ANY YT videos of anything gun related this will be a problem. Of course, if you don't view,shop on line ,research shooting gear by video or indeed sites having video then there is no problem!
