  1. Alsone I already have the XS and I use it for clays, the bps I have and got it because I wanted a pump action, I might do a bit of rough shooting with it but it's mainly because I wanted it I also already have the SBE2 The question is if I am going to replace the SBE2 with an A5. It will he used for rough shooting and a bit of wild fowling lol bigad I will if you have a A5 for me to "look after" haha
  2. I have got a bit of a dilemma going on in my brain, i think i have made a decision but would like the opinions of the forum members before i make it final. Currently in my gun cabinet is a Browning ultra xs prestige, a Browning bps and a Benelli raffaello super black eagle 2 camo. Now what i am thinking is that benelli looks a bit out of place amongst the Brownings, i haven't really taken a shine to it even though it is a great gun, i think i am a Browning man so i am going to replace it with a Browning A5. From what i can tell both are inertia driven, both are multi choke, both a
  3. Just tracked one down finally, £595 brand new not a bad price from what i have seen
  4. I have been trying to track down a browning bps for a while now but any i find online are all to far away (atleast 3-4 hours drive) so i figured i would ask on here if anyone has one or knows of one for sale near devon, Would like 12g and prefer not to drive to far Edit: even just a link to an online store where i can buy a new one and have it shipped to a local gun shop would be great, all new ones i see are in us
  5. I have got a browning ultra xs prestige for clays and a benelli raffaello super black eagle 2 camo for rough, i just wanted a pump for a bit of variety and the bps lookes like it would fit the bill but tbh it is proving a pain to get one so it looks like its off to the sportsman for a super nova Thanks everyone for the input
  6. So really my options are import one myself which i assume is a massive headache and to expensive to be worth it, or wait for one to come up for sale then travel to get it unless I'm lucky enough to find one in my area.
  7. I am kinda interested in getting a browning bps but none of my LGS stock them, What is the process in ordering one online and having it delivered to my LGS? Are there any online stores with good reputations? What happens if when it gets delivered it doesn't fit right? I assume most places will do a no quibble return Thanks for any help and advise
  8. What is the difference between the benelli super black eagle 2 and the benelli raffaello super black eagle 2? I have tried doing a search in google but havent found anything usefull so would be great if someone here knows or can atleast point me in the right direction. My best guess is its like having a 3 series bmw or a M3, just better built and a few extra snazzy bits
  9. And i would really like one on my sgc
  10. I have mis worded that question really, i know more than 1 in barrel and 2 in chamber is fac what i meant to ask is do they make a bps that is less than 1 in barrel and 3 in the chamber? I have only seen them in fac setup
  11. I have been trying to decide between a benelli super nova, browning bps, remington 870 or a mossberg 500 but while looking into it i have noticed that the bps has a 3 shot magazine so does that mean it is really a 4 shot (3 in the mag 1 in the barrel) which would mean i cant have one on just a sgc? Also while i am asking, i know fit is always the best thing to look for but let's pretend all 4 fit me perfectly which of the 4 guns would you pick and why?
  12. Hey dagsnads2 i am intrested in this but: how quick do you want it gone? How old is it? roughly how many shots have been through it? I only ask since i have just a couple of days ago had the firearms inspector come round to see about giving me a sgc, all looks good from what she said so i will have the certificate anytime between 2-4 weeks estimated so i wont beable to have it till then.
  13. Just ordered my cabinet i got a 5 gun one so i have room to expand and also i wont have to buy a new one when i decide if im going to apply for fac or not. A friend of mine got a 3 gun cabinet when he got his shotgun and now regrets not buying bigger so i figured why make the same mistake, plus i already know when my money to play with stash builds up again i will want a semi auto and a pump and maybe even a cheapy side by side just so i have a full set.????
  14. Cool all the post make a lot of sense and it gives me a few things to try, thank you
  15. Cool thanks for clearing that up, i appreciate the help
  16. That does help sounds like it will fit, thank you
  17. I don't have access to it yet i am still just about to apply for my licence and my friend who i am getting the gun from is away for the next few days (bloody typical) i was hoping to get moving on the safe/ application asap but if it saves me £150 on a safe that i will have to take the gun apart to store it i guess waiting a few days wont hurt
  18. No it is just one space inside no compartments, i was staying clear of them
  19. Hi first things first he is not a hunting dog but my border collie is scared of loud bangs so if he is around when fireworks go off or there is thunder or i shoot my air rifle even a loud popping exhaust he tries to hide away I was wondering if you guys with shooting dogs ever had this problem and how did you solve it in your trusty side kick? Is it possible or would you just get another gun dog? This is not an option for me i love my dog but just wondering
  20. I am looking at what gun safe to get for when i give in my application for a shotgun but i dont know if the gun i have coming will fit without being broken down and was hoping someone here could enlighten me please. The gun is a browning ultra xs prestige with 30" barrels + chokes it has a standard butt pad atm but i believe there is a thicker gel one with it but if thats an issue i can leave it off since the gun is very comfortable as is. The safe is a JFC 5 gun full shotgun cabinet: Ext Dimensions: (HxWxD) 1325 x 301 x 221mm Is this high enough to fit the gun without risk of d
  21. Before i hand in my shotgun application i wanted to ask the firearms department a couple of questions but i got there and found out they are only open mon-fri 9-5, so i figure you guys have been very helpfull to me picking a gun to get and what cartridges to use, who better to ask? How long after handing in my application would it generally take for someone to come round and check my gun storage? I just need to know if i should get a cabinet before i apply or if i will have a week or so to get it sorted If i was only applying for a shotgun to shoot clays but 6-12 months down the line
  22. Cool thank you guys for the info now i have a good idea of what to go for.
  23. As you may already know from my other post i am relatively new to shotgun hunting so this may be a noob question but i was wondering what is the best cartridge for what quarry, what would you use for rabbit, pigeon or foxes? I presume there would be different shot for each i,e a heavier shot the bigger the target, but are there any different loads worth trying out or is it pretty much set in stone what is used for what? I'm using a 12 gauge over under
  24. Couldn't help myself i just brought the browning ultra xs prestige with ported barrels Thank you all so much for the help it is appreciated, and now i have a very good base to work from
  25. I had mentioned it a few posts back Yeah i have known him a fare few years he is selling it to get a dt10. But i am torn between having his since it would help him out, sounds cheap and is a nice easy route to get a gun, or spending just a bit more and having a beretta 682 gold e
