  1. Thank you that's really helpful advice and thanks for giving me a great understanding. Most keepers I've spoke to have just been telling me to steady him round the chicks and leather him if he moves round them so what you've said is really what I needed to hear. Thanks again pal
  2. Thanks for all the replies everyone, had him out yesterday and sat him down as the chickens were roaming about and roared at him if he moved, I'll keep doing this everyday as much as I can till he gets it into his wee head...

  4. This is what really concerns me too so thinking we'll need to go completely back to basics with him.
  5. I have a 12 month old springer, I've been doing as much training with him up to the point where I thought we were doing well, he was stopping on the whistle and recall was going well. However, I've recently moved house and bought myself some pet chickens which are in their pen for a certain amount of time then I let them roam free for the rest of the day. My springer has always been interested in them but I've never let him go near them off his lead. I was recently out for a walk with him, was a good 10 minutes from home and he decided to bolt off, despite me calling him and using the recall w
