Wow, the only equivalent to that kind of haul here in Western Canada is going out gopher shooting, except you wouldn't eat them. But a good patch of gophers will empty a 500 round bulk pak of .22 ammo pretty quick.

What grain of bullet are you using .17 or .20? I had a savage that was dead on with the .17 grainers but wasn't near as accurate using the .20 grain bullets. It might that your rifle doesn't like that particular grain of bullet.

So to help you guys determine what the heck I've got, here are some photo's that will perhaps help determine who made the receiver. Based on the crossed swords ID it is a definite mfg. date of 1970. Knowledgeable input would be valued. Cheers waynewjw

Pretty sure it's not a 1200 as no rosewood fore end and grip gap. And no faint "spain" engraved or ground out markings.

Canadian forum told me to find BritHunter on this forum as being knowledgeable about PH rifles. Well a couple of more posts and I should be able to track BH down and see what in site he can offer.

Acquired two Parker Hale rifles, unfired, still packed with grease on the bolt. I need help identifying the first of the two. It is a PH Safari 30-06. Proof Marks date it as 1970 mfg. has two lugs on the bolt, 23 3/4" barrel, high sheen bluing finish. The stock is birch? and doesn't have the rosewood end and cap piece. It is factory drilled and tapped for scope bases. The bolt has not engraving on it, but the safety which is a matte finish has PH circled. My question is does anybody know who made the action? It's not Spanish, as what I've been told is SPAIN was ground out of the tang but

Hey There, doing some research on the net about Parker Hale rifles and got directed to this forum. I in Vancouver, British Columbia and have been into shooting, hunting and fishing all my life. Glad to be onboard.
