  1. Hi phill, Thank you for the feed back and positive feedback at that, I think your correct he is at the age were he wants to see what he can get away with but it's getting better every time we go out although it's thick fog in hull tonight and with the dark night he was very alert not frightened as such but very on edge so that might be why he stayed close.we Saw a fox told him to heel and wait which he did but give off a bark, "first time I've heard him bark properly didn't realise how deep and loud they could bark", again said a simple firm NO and he sat back down so fuss and bit of food,
  2. Interesting points you have made, I've had him out in fields to day on a training lead as there are a mixed bunch of animals we have to go by and he did great till he went after a pheasant in a bush. The training was just the kennel club bronze that he completed. But the centre was more focused in using the training funds to import more Romanian rescue dogs and not enough time on the traing classes so stopped going. I think the best way is get him out everyday and keep at it till it's right. He was great till he spent the day with another dog and now all he wants to do is play with
  3. Hi guys, Looking for some advice here. I'm after a starter gun for my lad just for range and plinking so power not an issue but don't want a toy.... I like the look of the HW 25 but not seen one in the flesh or know of anyone that has so wanted to see if anyone on here has any info or suggestions? My dad started me with a BSA meteor when I was young but was looking for something a bit lighter and shorter if possible and think the new ones are full power which he won't need as won't be hunting for a long while only things that are a musts on this purchase are the following, Spr
  4. Hi guys, a very delayed post I know, Just wanted to know if the club on Sutton fields is still on the go I went to it a couple of times but then had shoulder reconstruction so not been for years, I use to see a guy who got me shooting rim fires and so on at hprc walking down there "graham" I think he was called but not seen him walking round there'd in a while so was unsure if it was still there?. Basically I'm buying my 9 year old lad a HW25 to introduce him to air guns and as it's just 5 mins away would be great providing they will let him go to it? Any info would be great
  5. Had a bit of luck today, got talking to a guy who wanted some computers fixing and his CCTV putting on the net to send emails and so on, anyway turns out he has some land round the back of the building and a small woody area so after a chat about it we did a favour for a favour sorted his cameras for shooting round the back. It's nothing to shout about but saw a few woodies so it's a start, he got CCTV sorted for free and I have a start on my shooting land

  7. Hi guys, thanks for your replies. The jumper has gone the harness has gone back on a slip lead and working on not letting him sit on the sofa but as soon as back turned he is back on it. As for the off the lead he is only off the lead when on the deserted beach or empty fields or woods however if he sees someone a field away he is off, he comes back once he has been to see them but it's the stopping him doing it in the first place that's my issue. So as for been firm, we do the talk loud and firm, take him back to were i want him and make him sit and wait of what ever command I've given
  8. Hi all, I have a 16 month old springer, he was from working stock but is not a working dog more of a pet.(as my profile pic shows with him in a jumper the wife and kids put on him which surprisingly he really likes wearing lol) We went to training classes and he is trained to retrieve dummy's from land or water and never really had an issue with him till recently when he just runs off and just runs round been defiant barking and been really excited when we call him?. Also when off the lead if he sees other people or even more other dogs he started running to them to be stroked / play, not s
  9. Hi, thanks for your reply. Done a little bit of door knocking but had no luck so far getting hold of anyone. I don't do ferreting been a couple of times got bitten not done it since, feel free to pass on my details to the people who can't get hold of anyone for the rabbits or pass me the details and I'll give them a call or pop and see them if that's to too cheeky?.. I've just been given permission on a small plot near leaven from a friend but tbh looks dead going for another look about at weekend but not looking hopeful.
  10. Looking for a bit of rabbit shooting in or around the hull area with an air rifle, insured and started shooting back in 1996 just had a few years off so not new to the sport. turns out the local land I had now has houses built on it..... Any help, leads or info would be much appreciated.
  11. Hi, thanks for your reply, yes I was aware of that but I believe this guy shouldn't have been shooting there from what I was told! So just want to make sure it's all above board.
  12. Hi all, just been reading through and thought I'd sign up and ask if you ended up getting any shooting from your post? I am also looking for land in and around hull, I haven't been for a few years due to shoulder reconstruction anyway turns out the remaining local land I had has now been built on for the new kingswood estate so on the lookout for a bit of rough shooting for rabbits with an air rifle. I have insurance but would be looking for permission letters and details of the permitted land as I had verbal permission on a small plot in a local village turns out it wasn't his land to give pe
