you can pik up cheap scopes on ebay ... maybe a 3-9x40...no need for ir( the crosshairs that light up) or AO (wchich will over complicate matters for him at his age. feel free tp pm me if you need ebay links etc. and good luck with the new young hunter ;-) Dave

I have a Hatsan at44-10 .22 in the synthetic stock with the rising cheek-piece and adjustable butt pad. They are awesome. only trouble I had was the poorly finished mags. ploish and de-burr with a Dremel or wet n dry and you will be happy as Larry ( whoever Larry is I've never met the man myself) they are a tad underpowered dtraight from the box but that seems to remedy itself after a tin of pellets.
