    What do you mean? Are you you suggesting I pick up the pup and cradle it like a baby? I've posted on here for honest advice because I have a lot of time on my hands and I put quite a bbt of time into training her since the times available to me. grow up and stop spending your time attempting to irritate other people. just because I've got a lot of time and use it to train the dog doesn't mean I spend my nights cradling the dog you absolute waste of oxygen. I come on here for advice from knowledgeable people not ridiculous comments from halfwits with the humour and mental age of an 11 year

    I've recently left the army and got myself a first cross border patterdale bitch pup 6 weeks ago(she's about 15-16 weeks old now). As I've no neee to get a job yet as I am still employed until January 28th and paid until February 25th.i have a lot of time on my hands and spend a lot of time training and walking(not too far as I heard it's possible to damage bones etc). I'm having no trouble with her and she's coming along far far better than I thought. My only concern is am I spending too much time around her so that when I eventually do get a job she suffers from separation issues? I'm n

    I was listening to a bunch of my mates(5 of them) argue about this the other day. They all keep a mixture lf terriers/lurchers and one also has three spaniels. All in all about 12 dogs. They were all giving different opinions. Each arguing their own corner and not really budging on the matter, the one that keeps two indoors and two outdoors said he didn't think there was any difference in working ability as dogs are born with it but said he'd have all four outdoors if he could start over. Anyway the debate went on for about an hour but came to no real conclusion. What are your opinions g

    The mother was the Patterdale. She had the same kind if coat you're describing.

    Great pictures. I'll upload a few of my pup this week see what everyone thinks of her. Had her about 5 days now and I'm chuffed with her do far, she's settled quickly. Real confident but sticks to my heel when I want her to, I'm hoping she'll stay like that as she gets older. Still trying to work out how thick her coat will end up though.

    I'm picking up a border cross Patterdale. Neither of parents were digging dogs. Border was ratting dog, Patterdale I believe was a failed earth dog as was bred for digging but only used for bushing. Im getting her as a pup, want to use for ratting and bushing. ...Waffling on a bit lol, how did you warn them off earths? Why would anyone purposely breed from a failed earth dog? Why not just breed from bushing dogs if that is what the pups were intended for?     Seems to be a good cross from what everyone is saying. I like the sound of ut very much. Gonna have to invest in a shovel though and check round for fox in the area I guess. Looking forward to it though.

    What size do they tend to get to? The one I will be getting is one of the largest in the litter, think she's biggest tbh. How much would a locator collar be and where could I get one mate? I plan to mainly do ratting and bushing but understand she could run to ground. I'll upload a few pictures when I get her and see what everyone thinks. Thanks for the replies.

    Hi guys. I've reserved a pup who I'll be collecting in two weeks time at 8 1/2 weeks. She's the strongest looking out of the litter first cross border over Patterdale. Dad is a ratting dog and mum has seen work but is mainly a pet but was bred from workers. I want the bitch mainly for ratting and a bit of bushing as I've never done any digging work. I know a lot of people with working dogs but no digging men so I've never been exposed to it. Does anyone have any pictures or information on this breed?
