If there's anyone in pest control in the Whitehaven area who deals with rabbits and squirrels/other whole prey, I'd love to hear from you either in this thread, or a message. I feed a raw/prey diet to my dogs and ferret, and I'm looking for new sources. I'll pay for them of course. I can't feed them anything that's been killed chemically, but everything else is fine. I would like them whole, not skinned or anything, they can eat the whole thing. Thank you in advance -
Actually, just to bump this and add, if anyone deals with squirrels I'd like those too? Paid for, of course.

Hahahahaha! Yeah the fur is a real cleaner. Can't be squeamish when you feed raw and keep dogs, nowt a shovel can't fix.

It won't kill me, it just feels like it some days. I'm considering rabbiting using ferrets, but I've a lot to learn first. Both my dogs are rescues that were fed on leftover food from market stalls, which was comprised of chips and burger leftovers for the most part. They were a mess, so I've had to undo their diet and build it back up properly. Raw seems the best way to go.

Riffraff: thank you for jumping to my defence, and I'm not actually a hunter, but there's time yet. I would like to be able to hunt for prey myself to feed them, but really bloody annoyingly, I have a chronic illness that might (well likely), mess that up for me.

I have fed cooked rice before, with a raw egg specifically, shell and all, but not pasta, mainly because a lot of dogs are gluten intolerant, mine certainly are. It doesn't apply to all dogs of course, but my bulldog specifically has skin that flares up with the slightest hint of gluten. Dogs can eat guts, it's where a lot of nutrition lies. It's where dogs get a source of greens from in the wild, from the stomachs of prey that eats grass etc. Green tripe is always a good seller for raw suppliers.

Firstly - I'm a mad woman, as someone else correctly put it. Secondly, I have two bullbreed dogs, a bull mastiff and a bull dog. Thirdly, what on earth do you think feral dogs eat out in the wild, biscuits? Domesticated dogs can eat precisely the same. The upside is that I can take steps to make sure the entire prey is safe for them to eat first. I have been feeding my dogs on the Raw/BARF diet for a long time. They are the healthiest they have ever been. Such diets can and do include entire prey animals, such as rabbits, squirrels, game, if it can be caught, they can eat it. Many har

Dogs can eat the whole thing, they start by ripping open the gut to eat all the soft innards and stomach contents which kick off digestion, and work their way through and out, finishing with the bones and fur which clean their teeth.

I'm looking for someone local to me who is willing to sell me entire rabbits and the like, as I want to feed them to my dogs. I realise I can get them from a butcher, but they have this habit of skinning them, and taking the heads off. I kinda want the whole thing. I'm in the Whitehaven area of Cumbria, and so if anyone can help, I'm interested. Obviously the rabbits need to be disease free, as I want to feed them to the dogs. My two chomp their way through lamb heads rather quickly. I get them cut in half from a raw supplier, but they only do deliveries to Cumbria once a month, and I would prefer to source locally and be able to stagger my deliveries/pickups throughout a month. I reckon I'm going to need more freezers..

I do hope so, I feed a raw diet, but I would like to introduce some entire prey because it's bloody good exercise for them mentally and physically, to chew their way through something like that.

Hi folks, I was pointed here by a pest controller in Cumbria, so I thought I'd better say hello. Straight to the point, I'm not exactly a hunter, but I do have two large bullbreed dogs that need feeding, so I am always on the lookout for people who can sell me entire prey animals, since I don't want skinned headless stuff from my local butcher. I expect if that's not OK, I'll be chucked off fairly quickly.
