  1. Fingers crossed I should be meeting up and introducing pooch to my 2, then a home introduction then maybe a quick look at her working.  I trust the guy I'm getting her from completely as he could have moved her on 100 times but wants to know where she is going, he loves his dogs. He has also been a huge help to me over the last few years teaching me the basics of the sport and allowing me to accompany him on trips. I wont embarrass him on here but if you see this mate you've been a diamond.

  2. At what age do you stop working your ferts? This is my first batch and they are now 6 so I have new stock coming this year. Obviously I want to give the old ones a run out as they still love it. Just wondered what your thoughts were on this.

  3.

you have to get the recall/stop nailed before working at night mate. Get them on the whistle, its harder to sort out bad habits than install good ones from start. Repetition, repetition, repetition.

I would question my dogs drive if I could call him off when he is on

Different ball game I know but I have no issues with my spanners drive and commitment but can stop them on a sixpence (one of them any way the other is a homo). You suppress prey drive when introducing to ferrets but they continue to work well. My opinion is only based on my limited work with gundogs but premise should be the same, in saying that when I had ex racers and they got a whiff of something I had no hope of getting them back. I guarantee as soon I start with lamping my opinion will change pmsl

  4. My bull whip grey is tiny..some fun with her..don't be put of with a bit of bull..

Don't have anything against bull just thought with a smaller dog prob best not to have anything in it to beef it up. Don't need the extra grit it brings for rabbits.

  5. You get a whippet you be wanting a bigger all round dog next year...most lurchers are laid back dogs as they are if raised right..get something what can take the game you intend to take n and what you may want to take in years to come as you both grow in to the game..

I agree mate but I don't the space for a big pooch, my greyhounds were awesome dogs but with tail being at coffee table height with a house full of kids is asking for trouble. Around spanner height, bit taller, will be awesome.
