beddy greyhound for ferreting?
Ferretboys1 replied to Beddy greyhound's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
If its just ferreting you are doing then beddy /whippet a bit more then go for beddy/ gray . Not saying that a beddy/whippet cant take bigger it can . i would just rather go for a beddy/gray myself and have a all rounder just in case -
beddy/whippet /gray/ collie

Nice looking dog you have there wirral countryman what sort of cross it it 3/4 or 1/2 cross

That would be a good thing to do if you plan on catching rabbits .. I use a old sock with corn in and sow the skin to it with a couple of meters or rope to pull it with or use a old coke bottle ( the small one's and put corn in it and sow the rabbit skin around that). the dogs will have plenty of fun with it..

if greyhounds are the fastest?...
Ferretboys1 replied to whippet pup's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
A track dog or ex track dog will always be trouble waiting to happen when worked i a field because its trained to race and not worked like it should hens the injury's and deaths . a field worked dog will always better because its trained to chase its prey and have been from a pup but most will have something happen to them as they are not fit to do so anyway plus i don't know any breeder of racing dog that spend hundreds or thousands of pounds to have there best dog fxxxxxd up or die for chasing a rabbit or fox or deer. That's why they have been crossed with other breeds to get worst out of
