    from memory the Tikka .223 is like a 1/8 twist so you should be able to shoot 75gr bullets out of it like the 75gr amax. Other bullets like the 77gr SMK might be worth looking at too however you may be restricted by the Tikka mag length.

    We try to keep it minimalistic and just use captions, in future videos we will be interviewing other hunters. I am actually hoping to pay Accuracy International a visit when I fly to England in a few days. Regarding butchery we take the backsteaks and the back legs. I would like to carry one out whole but it's a little awkward to carry a heavy carcass while at 2000m above sea level.

    Ain't that the truth,,, until man landed on N.Z a few hundred years ago,,, there were no mammals at all.. Question for the kiwi lads,,, are white European settlers responsible for all the mammals,, or did the moiries intruduce any when they landed a thousand years ago ? The only native mammals in NZ are two species of bat and a seal. The acclimatation societies in the 1800s introduced deer and various other species here.     Yes. They taste alright, they're like a big hare but not as nice. Back steaks are nice pan fried. Here is a pair of legs I braised in '09

    Hi, wasn't sure where to put this since wallaby aren't big game and there doesn't seem to be a varmint section. Please feel free to move it if it's in the wrong place. This is a video a friend and I made of us wallaby shooting in Southern Canterbury. Red-necked wallabies were introduced to South Canterbury in the late 1800s and are considered a pest. Their numbers must be controlled. Rifles used were a AR-15 carbine and a custom Sako in 6.5x47 Lapua. FILM 1: Hunter Hills Next episode will be Tahr hunting.

    This once started out as a factory Howa .243. I shot some goats with it then promptly threw out the plastic stock and replaced it with a carbon fibre thingy from Australia (it was difficult to get McMillans at the time). I shot it with 95gr Targex (similar to Berger) on wallabies and tahr out to 450m then moved to Australia and got it rebuilt with the idea of a "modern sako forrester" in mind.     A secondhand weatherby/howa would be a better option. Most things that Mossberg make are crap in my opinion.

    Hi, I'm the kid. I live in New Zealand (work in Australia) and I'm a frequent visitor to England. I thought I'd register here to post up some photos and videos and find out more about deer hunting in Great Britain. I look forward to one day hunting roe, pigeon and squirrel. I grew up a spearfishing (grandfather and father spearfished in Torquay) and fishing enthusiast in Northland before moving to Otago in 2008 where I took up hunting.
