  1. i use one , great tool . very quiet with fibre wads or subs . mines a pedretti hushpower , shorter than the biakal so handles well . shame its only a single shot .

  3. my little jill , wont stop scratching , she as been sprayed with Bob martins flea spray , but still carrys on . i have noticed she is loosing fur or malting . is this the time they malt and would it cause all the itchiness thanks again .
  4. hi -- is it ok to feed raw mince meat every day to your ferret , or should it be a once a week only job. thanks ps. shes also getting dried ferret food adlib . is that too much ???.

  9. thinking of getting another ferret to keep the jill company . the jill is approx 18months old , what would be the best choice . read conflicting stories of same sex / mixed sex , whats the best idea sex wise age wise to put with her. would both be kept in same hutch . thanks
  10. my daughter wanted to get her new pet , a ferret collar and lead . non of the local shops sell them , so we took a drive to pets at home , but the only ones they had were multi-coloured namby - pamby things . any one know where to get a decent one . cheers
  11. used this before -- its used on cows mats ( cubicle housed herds ), for lactating cows , helps stop the spread of mastitis . no sure but might be a bit strong for a ferret . i would,nt use it , but thats just my opinion .

  13. no wind up , the chap as kept ferrets for 24 years , but only ever as pets , he dont beleave in working them his words . so thats probably why he said it .
  14. can pet ferrets be workers as well took the one i found to a rescue place as the RSPCA where bloody useless . he de-ticked here and flea sprayed her , checked her over and said she was a very nice find indeed . i asked about rabbiting and he reckoned no she was a tame un , only the vicious ones will work , you have to treat them a bit rough and no good trying to work a pet ferret . well this ferret may have been a pet at some time , but when i found her she was roughing it , nicking eggs etc . what do you all think about this ???.

  18. i,ve got same prob with a ferret i,ve just found , it as a few ticks on it . i,ve got some old frontline dog flea spray ( just out of date ) would this be ok , or are you talking about something else . thanks
  19. it had been in and out of the stables and feed storage area for a few days . i could of left it , but there are a few good ratting terriers down she would,nt stand a chance . just noticed this ferret as got a few blood sucking ticks on her , how do you get them off , will they perimantely damage the animal , do i need vet meds .. whats the best bedding for her . can i feed egg or cooked chicken / turkey . thanks
  20. just been reading past posts -- there is a mention of the jill jab , how often would this be needed , how much do they cost . if a ferret is spayed , does it affect there working at all , would it increase in weight , are there any pros and cons for it . as you can tell i,m new to this , found this ferret last night in the feed room at the stables , she seems tame-ish , but dont know what to do with her . got her in a metal gage 2ft by 3ft with straw bedding , water and dry go-cat . any help and advice welcomed :thumbs-up: .
  21. poacher -- thats some well endowd hob you have there ferret love -- thats the one . so shes in season , what sould i do with her , just let her go , farmer says dump her somewhere or 410 her . shes a sweet little thing . would,nt mind keeping her , but have no experince . will a jill live ok on her own , is there any way to age her . what about basic requirements thanks Anyone know of a ferret rescue in Nottingham
  22. hi all -- just found a ferret at the stables , seems pretty tame , put it in a temp cage with some water and dry cat food . its nice looking polecat type . problem is i,ve no idea how to sex it . can any one post a pic of male and female genitals

  24. hi all -- i,m new to the site , hoping to pick up lots of info and tips . been around on pigeon watch and other shooting sites for a while , been visiting this one for about a month now reading posts looking at pics etc , any how decided to join up . hopefully will be getting my first lurcher shortly . cheers Darren .
