  1. Well Ive done the deed and bought the gun. I ended up buying a Browning B325 which I am told will last me a lifetime if I look after it well.Pick it up at the end of the week. I've had to put a thicker recoil pad on it as the stock was a little short and being a big lad I was crowding the stock end of the gun (so I'm told) Looking forward to its first outing over the new year period. Do any of you guys use the Running Hill Clay Shoot up near Diggle?
  2. Can't say I d Overall I've had much better advice of this forum than any other. There is a wealth of experience on here Can't say I disagree Nik. I implied it would be another useful source of information.
  3. Go back to basics. Walk her to heel on a lead. Walk forward 15 yards and ask her to sit verbally. Repeat the excercise over an over gradually introducing the whistle (single long pip for me) to replace the sit command. She will soon get if you practice this for a short time. Take a look on Gundog Training Forum. Some brilliant advive is to be had from some seasoned professionals and keen amateurs.
  4. O/ U is probably my gun of choice. I have access to good advice from my father who has spent a lot of time downing clays in the DTL discipline. His guns are pretty specialist and have never been carried over a wet and boggy field in their life. he has suggested a Miroku Grade 5 (tells me they hold their brass) which probably is a good bet if you have the money to spend on one even at 2nd had prices. Realistically I'm looking at around 5-600 quid max. Lanber and Bettinsolli spring to mind but would I be better buying an older Beretta, Miroku or Browning. If rough shooting and doin
  5. Im in the process of looking for a 12g shotgun. I do not want to spend a fortune and it will have to be versatile whatever it is. It will be used for a bit of walked up shooting and clays every now and again when out of season. Don't want to end up buying something that will be replaced after a short amount of time. Any advice please.
