Ye that will be it mate. What I do is pre-tense the bands before you draw and try keep them level while pulling back. Rather than pulling back while the bands are slack as I think you'll tend to keep the catapult at whatever position it is when you start pulling rather than adjusting to keep it level.

Ss4. Great choice pal

Just an update. She's started gripping with her bad foot again and the swelling does look to have reduced slightly. She was using her foot to grab the chicks today rather than using the other foot only so some improvement at least. Plenty of rest and she should be ok. Just glad it happened this early on rather than during he season

.Sorry mate just seen this. I use the supplied syringe but I've just checked and its 0.5 ml. That's using the standard 1.5mg/ml metacam for dogs. There are different strengths so best to check.
How long a course pal?

Message glynn thompson on facebook I believe he does hunting days with his eagles once the season starts

Cheers pal

What dosage am I looking at then mate? I've been told 0.2 ml ? But that seems nothing compared to what you're saying
-
Think she's just pulled it baiting from the perch all the time but all her foots swollen up. Been given some metacam but doesn't seem to have done anything. Nearest avian vets is 2 hours away and I think she's out he office because I haven't been able to get through on the two numbers I've been given. At a loss
-
Metacam and Loxicom are the same stuff so either will do, vets will treat a hawk with it but I've always had to sign a disclaimer form first. Birds need a much higher dose than a dog per kilo body weight. It's thick enough stuff so I find its easier to squirt liquid into a day old chick than give it in tablet form.
Been giving it into the chick but not seen much improvement and trying to get her into the vets is becoming a joke
-
Aye it's for the hawk lads so camt give aspirin. Been told the stuff they use for dogs is the only stuff they prescribe for hawks too. Can get the drops but need the tablets ideally
-
Anybody able to get the tablets or have some spare? Thanks

Cheers mate. I can't see the advantage of them myself. A good harris is the best hawk put there imo. Just a joy to fly but I fancy something else. Suppose I'm just not ready to let go of the harris to much yet haha

Well that's the deposit place. Antagonising wait now
To be honest mate it was spur of the moment. The bloke that showed me the ropes had the pair a few year ago. Now this pair isn't how usual harris/reds are bred as they are a male Harris into a female red rather than the other way so they are more harris like than they would be the other way round. Anyway this bloke sold the pair to a mate of his and in three years he's only managed to hatch one female which apparently is smashing the hares. I was at the blokes house while he was on the phone to the man with the pair telling him he's got three chicks so I thought f**k it I've always wondered about them anyway so I'll have one. I did have a redtail in mind anyway but might aswell try something completely new.

Going to see a man about a female redtail x harris for the coming season. Bit of luck I'll be putting a deposit down to pick the chick up in 4 months time. English pointer pups started showing promise too so with any luck this season will be my best yet. Good times ahead
