    Today I lasered a distance at 26 yards. I set the side focus on my Hawke Varmint to this distance but when viewed through the scope it looked quite blurred. Turning the side-focus again until my target came into crisp focus, I was rather surprised to see the dial was saying almost 40 yards! Could this be because I wear spectacles or is something fishy happening with the optics?

    Just arrived home after an interesting visit to my permission. Arrived around 7.0am to find the wind had strengthened considerably since leaving home. Decided to leave the Scorpion SE .177 in the SUV and selected my Air Arms S510 in .22 - if I was to get a chance at taking a shot today it would be pretty close range with the wind now beginning to howl like a banshee. Once I entered the wood I looked for sitty trees to the lee of the wind direction and found I could move quite freely without fear of disturbing possible quarry as the noise of the wind in the trees was considerable.     Wow! What a great forum. I am specifically interested in PCP air rifle hunting but have many other countryside interests. I see from the subject list that many of them are catered for in one forum. Look forward to interacting soon ...
