I had this on one of my older jills. Small patches of hair loss too. Healthy little ferret, no fleas or mites. I wasn't seriously concerned as she was still eating and drinking fine. Got myself some teatree shampoo for small animals from the local pet shop gave her a warm bath in that. It cleared up within a week with new hair starting to grow. But I'm no vet so please don't take my word on it that this is what your ferret has.

Cheers mate. Yes, she's 5 and this is the first that something like this has happened with her, no diet change or anything. Eating, sleeping and healthy otherwise. Going to see it out next few days and maybe take a trip to vet

Bengalese and zebras will be British bred so pretty used to our weather, I used to put a tarp on top the flight in winter to keep the rain out and you can drop it down over the sides at night if it's particularly harsh  you  can also put a small tube heater in the shed part of the aviary ?

    Thanks for that Greyman

I don’t mind zebras noise but some do and autistic kids don’t like lot of noise , just s thought?

My ex just bought her autistic boy

    (20yr old)

a blue budgie he asked for apparently he’s content with it only been couple weeks yet.

He is fine with noise - we had him down at a shop that had hundreds of the birds and it didn't bother him in the slightest

  5. Yea, I'm a bit stuck on the breed at the moment. I would just like the hardiest breed and just to start off with maybe 3or4 birds to see how we get on. My main worry is the winter months.

  6. Hi guys, just wondering if any of you keep finches. I have a son with autism and other than adoring my ferrets, he has developed a real fascination with small birds, I would really like to keep this interest going with him as he has very few things that he likes and its a great way to get him into the routine of caring for animals. I have a decent sized back garden and a 8ft x 10ft shed that I was thinking about making an outside aviary and attaching it to my shed and cutting out a few holes and having a small inside area.

It would be great to see if any of you guys have something like this.

    Cheers.

    Gavin

  7. I went out 2 nights ago after work, I never usually go out this early. Only went out with my smallest jill and my mates dog and a spade just incase, no nets just wanted to get the dog out a good run and check what's about. Was out for about 3 hours, plenty about and only a few small ones about. Im just going to leave it until September cause I could only get permission for one farm this year and want plenty of rabbits for the freezer! :)

  8. Just wanting to know if any of you guys ever had a Jill go mad after having a litter? Her personality has completely changed, very jittery and almost unhandable!! She bit me every time in go to fed her and it's been the first she's bit me from I got her when she was a kit, she's around 2yo and this is her first litter. Any thoughts?
