  1. Hi guys unfortunately I won't be able make this one . My stepdad gets out of hospital tomorrow after eight months. So we are going up to the farm to give my mom some support and welcome Dad home. There is also still quite a lot of work to do to help modify his room and accesses, bathrooms etc

I really am going to miss you guys, but I am elated that he has made it home, there were many nights spent sitting in the family room with him not expected to survive the night .

I hope you all have a great weekend , I look forward to the posts and Si's videos . Coop

  2. They all jam some time mate, some more than others. I haqve a Xplor 400 light and that has never jamed, but it did break off an extractor claw after 250 shells. It was fixed by Beretta but it took em five weeks. I have Teknys AL 391 with 30" barrel and extended chokes years old but super reliable not really a field gun though and heavy. Just keep feeding yours 32g shells it helps. Good luck

My Browning jammed a few times the other day using 6s it was easily sorted but Im pretty fu*ked off scene as it was over £1000

It is being fed 70mm 6s like the gunshop told me to feed it on and it still failed to eject today twice, Its under warrenty but the shop is 2 hour away.

But Im hoping it is down to the gun being new its just coming up to 180 cartridges old, Ive stripped and cleaned it every time Ive taken it out and lubed it accordingly It is going back if it does it again.

After it jammed It shot another 30 or so cartridges ok afterwards but its on my mind now.

Maybe I should have got another beretta afterall :huh:

  3. I've been using the gamebore Clear Pigeon 32g in number 6, ideal for those high birds. Good cartridge would defiantly recommend them.

I also use these for pigeon and crows as well, a good all rounder

I have been using these for a while and I like them. Had quite a bit of success with high flying crows that think they know the range of a 391 with full choke.

  4. Lovely work as ever darryl mate.

Davy, I think we've found the next THL meet venue!

    Cheers, wurz

i have a plan???? for next year! :hmm: Already in negotiations for 2013 meet  make sure your passports are up to date

what, you thinking of setting one up in cymru :bye:

That's me buggered if you do . The ex wife's still got a price on my head, after all it's only been 25 years since I legged it . Got bloody long memories them welsh gals lol

  5. Hi Karl . If you are thinking of putting one of those skeleton stocks on a TX, I wouldn't . I had one on my MK III and it was truly awful . It made the rifle nose heavy and it was incredibly difficult to get any kind of groups. The rifle looked fantastic but shot like a dog.

I hadn't worked out why the rifle was so inaccurate , all I knew was the previous owner couldn't get on with it and sold it. I decided to break the rifle up and sell what I considered to be the best bit of the rifle. I bought a second hand MKIII fish scale stock for £25 and stopped the stocks. I sold the CS stock to my mate (poor unsuspecting sap lol) and lubed and set the TX up for sale.

It was incredible. The TX was spot on. It was only then I realised it was the stock all along. I still have the TX and the poor unsuspecting sap , sorry I mean my mate has sold the CS. I hope this helps ( and that you have a TX lol) .

    Thanks lewis

It's past your bed time lol

I know but I just got to excited I couldn't sleep when I saw the meet dates :D

Ps I sighted in the Hw97k yesterday and knocking the spinners round no problem at 40 yards, can't thank you enough for showing how to and tuning the gun!

Your most welcome mate and thank you :-) now go to sleep :-)

  7. Is everyone happy with the intended location of the raised funds?

    I.E the scouts?

    Si.

Hi Si. My son Finn is in the Beavers and goes up to the Cubs at the end of this year. I hope he will go on up to the Scouts too. I do a bit of fund raising and help out a bit with maintenance of the scout hut they use, so I know how strapped they are. I think it's a great choice of recipient. Coop

  8. AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!

Initial unpacking suggests that my allen keys are missing, theyre in a large 9"x6" black plastic case which also contains a full set of long ended star keys, long ended allen/hex keys, plus a variety of screw driver bits and the various handles they can be snapped onto, a yellow handled narrow flat headed screw driver, and a small level. If anybody has found them or packed them by mistake, could they pm me please, even if its with a ransom note!

    Cheers, wurz

I believe they may have been given to davey when packing up as they were in the 'dismantling' tent, i remember seeing someone with them trying to figure out who they belonged to

    ATB

    Adam

Yep Wurz I gave them to Davey we found them whilst packing up mate :-)

  9. Agreed Coop . A small discount , and it was small lets be honest , could have got them a sale .............

Never mind buddy , you keep using them shotty things , and i`ll borrow that GML from you :whistling:

It could be said that I have missed a good gun for just £15 but I think Gnome was right £400 is its worth so I was prepared to give a bit but the shop wasn't . That narked me a bit and when that happens I can get a bit Black Country if you know what I mean :-)

If you come over to Kinver I might just let you shoot the course with the last (real) and best GML built , but there is a disclaimer . It will make you want to sell your soul to get one lol

  10. Well I decided to buy the Lanbar but not at the advertised price of £450 . I had already enquired if there was any discount on the gun and was informed that £440 was the offer price. After careful consideration of both the condition of the gun and the lack of history that i felt the shop should have had . I decided that I would see if the shop would accept a bid of £425 (that's only a saving of £15 on the salesman's asking price and £25 on the advertised price ) . I rang the shop and made it clear that I would like the gun but also outlined my reasons for not wanting to pay the full asking price. I asked if they would take a cash offer of £425 and was turned down flat . So guess what ? I am still looking and the shop still has a gun for sale . Poor outcome I think considering the small discount I was asking for.

  11. Im gonna come down that Kinver place one day :D

You can come over with me Craig . Drop into mine and I will take you over any time you want mate. The HFT course is good , not too challenging, with a couple of 50s and a 65 for fun. All set in woods on a hill. The clay shooting is challenging and I quite enjoy having the choice of the two. It's only 30 mins from mine and you'll see some of the Penkridge lads there.
